A drug addict who threatened a business owner with a needle before slashing the forearms of another woman with a knife on the doorstep of her own home has been sent to prison.
Michael Chapman, 59, of Robartes Road in Bodmin, appeared at Truro Crown Court to be sentenced today for charges of assault causing actual bodily harm, common assault, theft and being in possession of a sharp or bladed article.

Disabled Mount Hawke war veteran 'verbally abused' for taking...
A disabled war veteran said he has been "verbally abused" by local residents who are opposed to him using his quad bike as a mobility vehicle to gain access into Parc Shady woods, his favourite place.
The veteran even said that some people have tried to block his entry onto the public footpaths, by moving big logs and branches across the path.

Car reverses off 60ft cliff at Atlantic Terrace in New Polzeath...
A car has reversed off a 50ft to 60ft cliff at New Polzeath.
Police, coastguards, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, Cornwall Air Ambulance, the ambulance service and RNLI are in attendance.
It is believed an elderly man has accidentally reversed his car off the cliff at Atlantic Terrace just before 3pm.

There are just two weeks left to register if you want to have your say in June's General Election.
The deadline for registration is Monday, May 22nd, but happily, most people will already be on the electoral roll already.

A St Austell hairdresser is likely to have died after breast implant surgery caused the flare-up of an extremely rare disease which in turn led to a catastrophic organ failure, an inquest heard.

Man trapped against bridge wall by his own car after St Erme...
A crash early this morning left a man pinned against a bridge by his own car.
Seventeen firefighters rushed to an incident near St Erme, Truro, where the man was trapped between the car and a bridge wall.
Teams from Truro and Perranporth and the Rescue Tender from Tolvaddon used crash rescue equipment to release him.
Once free the casualty was left in the care of ambulance crew.
